OT s check our house for hazards.
Provide warnings -- and some safety equipment.
Two main concerns are: stairs and shower
I now avoid the big stairs... sleeping downstairs, no reason (for me) to go up.
Two sets of four steps...
I practise, show deb that I am okay, now go up and down, carefully.
Sorry OTs... those steps are between me and the kitchen.
Which leaves the shower:
An OT stool inside, chair outside.
With a bit of preparation and constant care... easy.
The stool is now removed, the chair is there for after.
All works well.
It may not be as was but, there's no problem and I -- and Deb -- are learning to relax.
half blind. half deaf. dying of cancer.
so what?

It's good that you are both relaxing.
